What We Do
Neighbourhood Studio is a community-led creative space in Bingham, Nottinghamshire, dedicated to supporting children and families through screen-free, meaningful experiences in play, art, and storytelling.
We design and deliver inclusive, engaging programmes — from after-school sessions to mindful art, cultural workshops, and storytelling experiences — that:
Nurture creativity and imagination
Strengthen focus, emotional resilience, and confidence
Encourage self-expression through hands-on creative exploration
Provide accessible and culturally rich experiences, including bilingual Cantonese–English elements
Foster connection and a sense of belonging among families
What We Offer
From playful afternoons to mindful moments — every session is designed with intention. Explore our creative programmes designed to support children’s growth, wellbeing, and imagination — while bringing families and community together.
After-School Creative Play
A weekly screen-free session where children explore storytelling, art, and creative play. Each session is designed to build focus, confidence, and imagination in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Creative Workshops
Hands-on themed workshops where children can try new materials and ideas — from slime-making to mosaic and seasonal crafts. Fun, engaging, and perfect for creative exploration and self-expression.
Story House
A unique storytelling experience where children dive into imaginative worlds — including Chinese mythology — through interactive, bilingual (Cantonese–English) storytelling and craft. Stories come alive through play and creativity.
Mindful Pastel Art Studio
A calming art session using Japanese Nagomi pastel techniques. Children learn to slow down, focus, and express emotions through gentle, mindful drawing.
Chinese Calligraphy
An introduction to the beauty of Chinese writing. Children explore brush strokes, meanings, and their names in Chinese, combining art, culture, and creativity.
Art Exhibitions & Community Showcases
Celebrating children’s creativity through small exhibitions and displays. A chance for young creators to share their work, build confidence, and feel proud of what they create.
