What a wonderful afternoon at our Open Studio World Book Day session!
We welcomed 14 children for an hour of playful storytelling and creativity.
We started with a warm-up game “Humpty Dumpty Story Bubble” — tossing Humpty Dumpty around while building a story together. A fun way to wake up our creative muscles and get everyone ready to imagine!
Then we split into small groups to rebuild the classic story Little Red Riding Hood.
Children explored:
telling stories from different points of view
the basic elements of a story — Plot, People, Problem, Ending
creating stories using visual cards and story dice
The results were hilarious and imaginative!
In one version:
the wolf was actually married to Grandma
and the hunter turned out to be a King!
It was amazing to see how quickly the children worked together to create their own unique stories. The hour truly flew by.
